The Pretender - Post-Production Complete
ANNOUNCEMENT
On August 31st 2026, Anthony-Hamilton Producers and OGK Pictures completed post-production on The Pretender.
The historical drama has now entered its festival cycle. Both Anthony-Hamilton and OGK would like to extend their gratitude to all cast and crew involved in the creation of The Pretender, without all of the dedication, the film would not exist.
Writer, Producer and Actor Jack Anthony commented: ‘I’m incredibly excited to finally share this film with audiences. It has been a truly challenging and rewarding journey, representing years of hard work and dedication. From developing the script to bringing the story to life and seeing it throughout post-production, I’ve invested so much of myself into this project. The process has pushed me creatively and personally, helping me grow not only as a practitioner but also as an individual. To now see the film ready to enter the festival circuit is an incredibly proud moment. I’m so grateful to everyone who has helped bring this story to life, and I genuinely can’t wait for audiences to experience what we’ve created.
Director and Producer Oliver Griffiths added ‘The Pretender feels like the culmination of everything I have learnt as a filmmaker over the last 17 years. The challenge of making this film has been immeasurable, but it has proved to be the most rewarding project I have ever worked on. The skill, passion and dedication on display in this film from the entire cast and crew is incredible, and I cannot thank them enough for giving us their time to help us tell this story. With “The Pretender”, I truly feel I have entered the next stage of my filmmaking journey…’
A further announcement regarding the public distribution of the short film will be made in due course.
At this time, we are delighted to announce in addition to the film completion, the official poster and that the film has been selected by the Birmingham Film Festival.
